It’s been a few years since Microsoft released the Windows 10 operating system to the public. The newest iteration of Windows OS has tons of new features and is undoubtedly the best version of Windows yet.
The best thing about Windows 10 probably is that it’s a service, unlike earlier versions of the Windows operating system. Since Windows 10 is a service, Microsoft will keep updating the operating system with new features and options. As of now, Microsoft releases two feature updates in a year and several regular updates to Windows 10.
What’s new in Windows 10?
Windows 10 ships with a host of new features and enhancements. The continuum feature of the operating system automatically switches between tablet and PC modes depending on the available hardware. For instance, when you connect a keyboard to the tablet, Windows 10 Continuum feature automatically changes Windows 10’s behavior and interface to PC mode.
The taskbar of this version of Windows is better than ever as it now lets you search the web as well as PC without opening the Start menu, File Explorer or any web browser. The File Explorer has a new feature called Quick Access (to which the File Explorer opens to by default) shows frequently used folders and recently accessed files (up to 20 files).
The personal assistant Cortana is another excellent feature of the operating system. The all-new notification center, universal apps, and new web browser called Edge (code-named Project Spartan) make Windows 10 very exciting.
The new Windows Sandbox feature makes it possible to safely run untrusted programs without letting them access the actual host operating system and your data.
